New York, NY–September 1, 2026 — Center for Employment Opportunities (CEO), in partnership with Edovo, has reached more than 400,000 incarcerated learners through its virtual courses preparing incarcerated individuals for returning to the job market. The most popular course, “Job Seeking with a Criminal Record,” developed in collaboration with LinkedIn, is a pre-recorded, 50-minute virtual learning course that is delivered directly to justice-impacted individuals behind bars through tablet technology provided by Edovo.

Taught by Dr. Genevieve Rimer, Vice President of Capacity Building and Technical Assistance at CEO, the 16-module course guides learners through every step of the job search process—from recognizing transferable skills and navigating online search tools to mastering interview strategies.

"When we created this course, our goal was to provide not just tangible job-search tools, but the confidence individuals need to rewrite their stories," said Dr. Genevieve Rimer, VP of Technical Assistance and Capacity at CEO. "Having been through this journey myself, I know the anxiety of facing a job interview with a record. Reaching 400,000 learners shows the massive demand for fair-chance resources and the power of launching scalable touchpoints through technological tools. Seeing individuals use these lessons to secure employment upon release proves that transformation is possible with the right support".

Since launching on the Edovo platform, the courses have gone live in over 1,545  facilities across 50 states, generating hundreds of thousands of enrollments. Following the success of “Job Seeking with a Criminal Record,” CEO has launched four other courses. The most recent, “Building Forward: Work, Technology, and Opportunity After Incarceration” is a new workforce readiness course designed specifically with older adults preparing for reentry.

As a long-standing pioneer in the reentry field, CEO continues to set the standard for workforce development by bridging pre-release preparation with post-release success through innovative technology development and partnerships. By leveraging burgeoning tools, CEO ensures justice-impacted job seekers gain actionable skills before stepping back into the workforce. Expanding on this visionary approach, CEO is actively developing ethical AI tools–meant to complement, not replace human-centered connection and reach people 24/7 and where our traditional program model is out of reach, such as incarceration facilities. Products, like our Coachlink Corrections and Coachlink community AI-voice enabled job coaches, ensure AI is harnessed as a powerful tool to uplift and support people leaving incarceration rather than perpetuate systemic barriers.

"Job Seeking with a Criminal Record" is also integrated into LinkedIn’s "Fair Chance Employer" filter, connecting job seekers directly with companies committed to inclusive hiring practices.
