CEO continues Grow with Google partnership to provide digital skills training
Today, CEO was thrilled to host Grow With Google at our Oakland location to announce the expansion of their career readiness program for justice-Impacted communities. CEO will scale digital skills training into our job-readiness programming at all 31 locations.
Former CEO program participants, practitioners, and Bay Area justice reformation partners discussed the importance of digital skilling for people with past convictions. Google announced the expansion of the Grow with Google Fund for Justice-Impacted Communities. Google.org also announced its grants with Code for America, National Urban League, and Columbia University focused on expungement and employment.
“Foundational digital skills are essential in today’s workforce and even more so for our participants who face tremendous barriers to employment during reentry,” noted Samra Haider, President of the Center for Employment Opportunities. “After a successful pilot program, we are excited to continue our partnership with Google and scale Grow with Google digital skills training into our job-readiness programming at all 31 locations across the country. We aim to deliver the training to at least 1,000 justice-impacted individuals this year to further support them in achieving economic mobility.”
