CEO’s evidence-based model is designed to enable men and women recently released from incarceration to quickly and successfully rejoin the workforce and become positive, contributing members of their families and their communities. The comprehensive program provides transitional work experience, coupled with job coaching, job development, and post-placement retention supports. CEO participants move through at their own pace – with the ultimate goal of finding and sustaining full-time employment.
CEO’s model has proven effective at reducing recidivism through a highly rigorous randomized control trial evaluation. CEO currently has sites in 15 cities across six states, serving 4,500 formerly incarcerated men and women annually. The model centers on CEO’s social enterprise which operates more than 70 transitional work crews across its sites, providing maintenance and labor services to a wide range of public sector infrastructure agencies. In addition to its evidence-based model, CEO is leading a range of program innovations to continuously adapt and improve its model to best serve its participants.
