Robert Garcia
Director, Controller
Robert Garcia joined the Center for Employment Opportunities (CEO) in 2015 and currently serves as the Director, Controller. He began his career in nonprofit and public accounting over 20 years ago, developing expertise in financial reporting, accounting, grant accounting and reporting, auditing, tax preparation, revenue recognition and lately on lease accounting. Robert oversees the accounting functions of the organization and leads external financial and regulatory reporting including government agencies audits, and liaises with the external auditors and financial institutions. Prior to joining CEO, Robert worked for other nonprofit organizations overseeing the accounting and management of the endowment, investment and assets portfolios, payroll processing and held some managerial roles and for a boutique CPA firm as the lead auditor/accountant working on audits, corporate, partnerships, nonprofit and individual tax filing, bookkeeping and cost certification.
Robert holds a BA in accounting from Brooklyn College and an MS degree in accounting and finance from Baruch College Zicklin School of Business and is professionally affiliated with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants
