Site Supervisor / Team Leader - Memphis, Tennessee

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Site Supervisor to help us live our mission to prepare people with recent criminal convictions for securing employment each year.  Site Supervisors support, supervise, and train work crews of 5-10 program participants, creating uplifting work environments for our participants that ensure their safety, providing on-the-job coaching, encouraging and empowering team members to seize each opportunity for building knowledge and skills, and fostering engagement and accountability across the crew. Through this work, Site Supervisors make real impact in our participants’ lives.

Major Responsibilities

Responsibilities of the Site Supervisor will include but are not limited to the following:

Customer Service

  • Ensure quality control of all assigned projects from our customer and a high standard of  customer communications and mowing services
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment for those performing work-related tasks
  • Verify accurate and completed work orders or tasks
  • Understand all contractual obligations and specifications

Team Management

  • Train, develop, coach, and supervise high performing work teams to accomplish production tasks as assigned and to reach project goals
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations, and by reporting any matters that threaten the smooth operation of the training crew to supervisor
  • Conduct daily safety training and safety inspections on job-sites
  • Share daily updates, job duties, and project priorities to team at the beginning of the day, providing instruction to ensure Equipment Engineers and crew are prepared to complete the job
  • Establish and maintain positive staff morale through modeling of sound leadership and teamwork
  • Maintain crew attendance records and enforce proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety equipment use
  • Maintain sufficient staff to accomplish production schedules; analyze and forecast future staff and material needs to complete future jobs
  • Maintain line of sight of all crew participants at all times

Crew Operations

  • Ensure all work is performed in a safe manner and in accordance with site safety requirements
  • Maintain proper inventory of assigned materials, equipment and other supplies on hand to complete mowing production activities
  • Participate in production work as needed, performing mowing services and overseeing mowing practices
  • Maintain a high level of good housekeeping and care of company assets on the crew, including vehicles, shop, and equipment
  • Maximize use of team equipment, materials and supplies
  • Complete any necessary daily reporting tasks

  • You must be able to work a typical schedule of 6:30AM-4:30PM every weekday (M-F) and be willing to work outdoors in all weather
  • High school diploma, along with at least three years of supervisory experience
  • Experience within a vocational trade preferred (construction, landscaping, building maintenance, grounds maintenance, land surveying)
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record
  • Previous safety training preferable, though training will be provided to hired candidate
  • Must be able to:
    • Consistently lift and move objects up to 75 pounds
    • Stand, kneel, bend, and climb in order to complete projects; work outdoors
    • Walk or stand for long periods of time
    • Drive a 12 passenger van with an attached trailer
    • Ability to operate a smartphone (Samsung Galaxy (Android)) & utilize Gmail are essential to this position

The salary for this position is $34,000-42,000, dependent on overtime.
