Syracuse Here We Come!

The U.S. Department of Justice awarded New York State with a Second Chance Act Grant that will allow CEO to replicate in Syracuse. Unlike our other upstate offices, this program will be a partnership between CEO and a local nonprofit, the Center for Community Alternatives (CCA). CEO and CCA have known each other for many years as members of the Alternatives to Incarceration Coalition. CEO will perform our standard intake and Life Skills Education programs and will manage two transitional work sites for 150 participants over the course of a year. CCA, with its existing job development capacity and business contacts, will be responsible for making full time job placements. We will be working closely with our Syracuse partners in the weeks and months ahead to streamline program delivery, identify transitional work opportunities and set up our physical space in Syracuse. Our hope is to launch this initiative on or before the start of 2011.
